Proper surface preparation is the most important element in a great floor coating project. In most cases, Diamond Grinding or Shot Blasting is an absolute requirement in order for the floor coating to adhere to the surface. An example of this is, if the floor has been previously sealed or coated. In this case, we would have to create a new surface profile in order to give the floor coating something to bite into. If you do not create a new porous surface for the floor coating, the coating will simply just lie on top of the surface and will soon lift and peel.
